The Coach:

Lynea Diaz-Hagan, the founder and primary coach of Windhorse Writing, attributes her love of language to her father, a fellow writer, and to Jack "Wordman" Kreitzer, an exceptionally gifted teacher. Jack taught that in writing and life “there is risk in dignity and dignity in risk." Taking her teacher's words to heart, Lynea helps her clients -- students and professionals, alike -- take strategic risks while using the power of language to reach their academic, creative, and professional goals.

Testimonials:

“Lynea has worked for two of my companies, NetSeer, Inc. and Haileo, Inc., and I have found her to be a gifted communicator and consultant. She has been very effective in helping me and my colleagues articulate our visions during the venture capital fundraising process. She has also helped us navigate the inevitable communications challenges that come up during the recruiting and team building processes. She’s excellent to work with, and I highly recommend her as a professional and inspiring consultant and coach.”

— Vwani Roychowdhury, Founder of NetSeer, Inc and Haileo, Inc.,
Professor of Electrical Engineering, UCLA

“In our first meeting with Lynea, we were very impressed by her knowledge of many colleges and their differences. While working with her, my son greatly improved his creative writing. Also, as a parent, I was surprised to see my emails and questions always answered within a day. This took away a lot of my worries. Lynea’s ongoing encouragement made our college application process a very pleasant one.”

— Kari K., parent of a current Yale student and 2017 Stanford admit

“Working with Lynea is like working with a good friend who intuitively draws out what you are trying to express. At the same time, she’s sharp and won’t let you off the hook!”

“Lynea’s brilliant, perceptive mind and gentle articulate manner took me to new places in my brain, where I gained the insight I needed to move forward. With Lynea’s strength, love, clarity, and vision, I know I’m in powerful hands.”

— Federico Hewson, Artist, Activist, Founder of The Valentine Peace Project

“My experiences in Lynea’s sessions were extremely insightful! With her guidance, I was able to look at certain aspects of my life in a completely new way. It was eye opening, as she allowed me to look within myself to find answers and have a better understanding of who I am as an artist and designer. She is clear and concise with her methods, an absolute pleasure to work with, and I gained so much clarity as to where I wanted to go next with my career. I looked forward to the start of each of our sessions and felt energized and inspired at the end. I highly recommend her to any creative at a crossroads in their career or to anyone simply wanting to take their career to the next level!”

“Lynea’s a real gem. From her first meeting with my daughter, they worked perfectly together. She’s just a great coach! She’s patient and kind but expects a lot from her students and has brought out the best in my daughter’s writing.”

– Debra L., parent of a Johns Hopkins graduate

“I came to know Lynea through our work together at a technology startup. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable and creative and gets a lot done in a short time. She is also a passionate writer and writing coach. When my wife was applying to the School of Engineering at UC Davis, she was fortunate to receive Lynea’s advice on writing the application essays. Lynea gave her thorough and insightful suggestions, which indeed helped help her dramatically improve the essays.”
